Concept visualizationAcoustic treatment costs vary widely because "treatment" can mean a few panels or a fully engineered fabric-wall room. Here's how to think about it, with indicative ranges we use for early planning.
Indicative costs (per sq ft of floor area)
| Level | Indicative range | Typically includes |
|---|---|---|
| Acoustic treatment | ₹550 – 1,100 / sq ft | First-reflection panels, front/rear wall treatment, basic bass trapping |
| Premium acoustic package | ₹1,000 – 1,900 / sq ft | Full fabric walls, diffusion, extensive bass traps, ceiling treatment |
| Soundproofing + treatment | ₹1,400 – 2,600 / sq ft | Isolation layers, decoupling, acoustic door, sealed AC paths + treatment |
So for a 280 sq ft room, treatment might start around ₹1.5–3 lakh, while soundproofing plus treatment could be roughly ₹4–7 lakh. These are planning figures — final pricing depends on the room, materials, finishes and civil work.
What changes the price
- Room size and height — more surface, more material.
- Finish — basic fabric panels vs stretched-fabric wall systems, wood slats, leather.
- Isolation level — a decoupled room-within-a-room costs far more than sealing a door.
- Doors and AC — acoustic doors and silenced ventilation are significant items.
- Existing condition — marble floors and glass need more treatment.
Where treatment gives the best value
First reflection points, bass traps in corners and an acoustic ceiling zone above the seats give the biggest improvement per rupee. Full fabric walls add both performance and a premium, seamless look.
Beware of "cheap soundproofing"
Foam, egg trays or carpet on walls do not soundproof. If isolation matters, it has to be designed. Read soundproofing vs treatment.
